Absolutely amazing service from start to finish. A quick and easy check in, 2 great rooms next to each other with adjoining door. We traveled for a birthday and they went above and beyond to decorate the room and make it special. The rooms were so clean and tidy and smelt amazing. The evening meal was fantastic and the effort they made to decorate the table at dinner was so kind. The food was so delicious. The service from the hotel staff, the restaurant staff and the housekeeping staff was brilliant. They couldn’t do enough for us and we had a really fantastic stay. We felt so welcomed. Thank you. You were all amazing. Highly recommend.

The request for rooms being close was not possible but when we checked in and went to the rooms, as they were very far apart I did go back and ask whether there was any chance of being moved - and Jo did manage to change the double to a twin which was closer (only 2 doors down). This was much appreciated by dad! Facilities were great, and was customer service. My husband forgot to take his wedding band off before going for a swim, and when he reported it the staff were on the ball and called him the following day to say that it had been found :) We would definitely recommend and will be staying again if in the area.

Easy to find just off the A12 , near Colchester, plenty of FREE parking (it’s WRONG when hotels charge you to park when your already paying to stay)nice reception staff , polite and efficient, ground floor room , this is a Big hotel , lots of rooms , slept well . I used the swimming pool , jacuzzi and sauna in the morning, all nice clean , lovely thank you , Great breakfast , cereal, orange juice , tea , coffee, toast , scrambled eggs,fried eggs , bacon , sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes,beans , hash brown ,and best off all -black pudding, perfect thank you .

We had quite a wait from when we checked in until our room was ready, so the staff gave us complimentary drinks vouchers which we used that evening in the bar. The guy managing the pool was brilliant, he got a lot of flack from other hotel residents when the pool was at capacity but he was only doing his job and was helpful and polite. Room itself was spacious and clean. The pool changing rooms were just the right temperature and clean.

Breakfast was very good, and had good variety. However, it was missing some food items on the New Year’s Day. The room was clean, but the central heating was too hot during the night, and it didn’t make much difference with the control panel. So, it should allow the customer to control the temperature at their own preference. Everything else was in good condition and clean, the staff was friendly and respectful at all times.
